Title: Enhancing Visual and Physical Interactions in Augmented Reality
Description: This project deals with advancing the state-of-the-art in the rendering and simulation of high fidelity animated virtual objects in augmented reality (AR) environments. In particular, we will develop novel techniques for improving the perceived realism of interactions between real-world objects and dynamic virtual elements in real-time. To address this problem, we will investigate the use of unified adaptive-level-of detail volumetric models that will serve as proxy geometry for both the real-world environment scanned by the AR system and the virtual objects generated and simulated by the animation system.
